Nostalgia on the Mic, launched in 2024 by Tiayana Ford, is a classic hip hop and R&B platform dedicated to honoring the legends, celebrating the culture, and keeping the sound alive for the next generation. Through the platform, Tiayana has interviewed iconic artists such as DMC of Run DMC and Jimmy Jam of Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, and has done photography work for Stephanie Mills.

She also curated her first event, The Hip Hop Journey Exhibit, which showcased displays from the East Coast, West Coast, and the South, tracing the birth and evolution of hip hop since 1979. The platform features a series called New Nostalgia, highlighting today’s hip hop and R&B artists who bring that classic, old-school feel, giving them a space to share their talent with a wider audience.

Tiayana’s passion for preserving and celebrating hip hop culture drives every project she undertakes, ensuring that the music, stories, and influence of the culture continue to inspire future generations. In her free time, she enjoys thrifting vintage clothing, collecting CDs, records, and cassettes, watching documentaries, and exploring new music samples.
